HEALTH CARE IS A HUMAN RIGHT!!!

AB 1400 – California Guaranteed Health Act (CalCare) Must be Heard!

On Friday, Feb. 19th, Assemblyman Kalra along with 19 other Assembly and Senate Members introduced AB 1400 – the California Guaranteed Health Act (single payer health care). The first hearing must take place in the Assembly Health Committee by the end of April in order to move this year. We are urging Speaker Rendon (916-319-2063) and Assemblymember Woods who is the chair of the Assembly Health Committee (916-319-2002) to schedule a hearing before the end of the month.

CARA has endorsed AB 1400 and will be organizing and educating our members and partners on why seniors should support it, and letting you know how you can get involved.  If you would like someone from CARA to make a presentation about the CA Guaranteed Health Care Act, please contact us at [email protected] or call us toll free at 877-223-6107.

This Saturday, April 17th, the California Nurses Association along with many community partners are organizing a SPEAK OUT FOR CALCare across the state.  These will be socially distanced, safe events, and we encourage you to join one in your area.  To find out where there are events near you, go to:
