How do family caregivers and professional caregivers work together to provide the best possible care? How do they build trust, coordinate tasks, and support one another during some of life’s most challenging moments?
Join Gray Panthers NYC for our next Transformation Tuesday, “Partners in Caregiving” — a powerful conversation about the relationships between paid and unpaid caregivers and how we can foster true collaboration in long-term care.
We’re thrilled to welcome two extraordinary advocates:
  • Lori Porter, Co-founder and CEO of the National Association of Health Care Assistants (NAHCA), is a nationally recognized champion for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). Known for her passion, grit, and unflinching advocacy, Lori has led efforts to uplift the voices of frontline caregivers, from testifying before federal commissions to launching innovative workforce development tools like the National Institute for CNA Excellence.

  • Jenine Ferrari, Long-Term Care Family Advocate, has helped build and support Family Councils across the country through the Long Term Care Community Coalition. She empowers families to advocate for their loved ones in long-term care, ensuring their voices shape the quality of care and life in these communities.
Together, Lori and Jenine will explore how caregivers—paid and unpaid—can forge strong partnerships rooted in mutual respect, shared goals, and compassionate care. Don’t miss this vital conversation about dignity, collaboration, and the future of caregiving.
